Continue on as the route runs alongside the Norman Bird Sanctuary and then bears right through the Third Beach area. Finally, the paved two-loop run course (one loop for Sprint) takes you out to the oceanfront Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge area. The two-loop bike course (single loop for the Sprint) will wind you through bucolic Middletown and Portsmouth, past both farmlands and stunning Sakonnet Riverfront estates. A few steps from the water’s edge, just across the sandy shoreline, you will find the transition area. 9 mile swim (.5 mile for the Sprint) in the beautiful open waters of Sachuest Bay.
